“I’m Gay”: Union J’s Jaymi Hensley kicks open the closet

Well this is a surprise. Union J’s hearthrob Jaymi Hensley came out as gay, revealing that he’s been with his hairdresser boyfriend for three years, even planning to marry and have kids

Jaymi said his mentor, Louis Walsh, inspired him to come out, saying ‘Every boyband has got to have a gay one! And Louis just said: “Do it!”. Jaymi also said “I didn’t want to do it in five year’s time when I have a career. I don’t think anyone should have to hide who they are.”

The boyband member came out to his parents when he was just 14 and they were very supportive of his decision. Kudos to Jaymi, Union J just became our favourite act on the X factor, and let’s just hope the internet trolls leave him alone. Commendable young man.
