Let Olivia Pope be great, We need more “Scandal” in our lives

After seeing something “Scandal” related pop up in my timeline on facebook every week, I decided to give this show a chance and after the first episode, I found myself Googling everything Kerry Washington and Olivia Pope.

Scandal isn’t just a T.V show…it’s an EPIC prime time series filled twists and turns, and juicy drama that we live for. There hasn’t been an episode where my jaw didn’t meet the floor.

In a nutshell, Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) runs a law firm, that’s not really a law firm and employs 5 people, who are attorneys, but are not really attorneys (stick with me), that do everything in their power to ensure the client get what they ask for. Olivia Pope is based on real life crises expert Judy Smith.

Oh and Olivia is having an affair with the President of the United States….chhh

I read so much negative reviews about Shonda Rhimes creating a role for a black woman that’s a mistress to the President of the United States, and how much it isn’t a good look for strong African American women, blah blah blah. This is a T.V. show and at some point in our lives we all had a “Scandal”. Live with it, be cute, move along and let Shonda Rhimes be great.

Olivia Pope isn’t here to portray your idea of a strong African American woman, rather, she kicked open the door wider so strong African American women could start getting leading roles on prime time television.

Btw, can we have a moment for Kerry Washington’s cheek bones? Her face is laidt like the most gorgeous woman on the planet. I can’t get enough of her acting every week. Kerry Washington and Sandra Oh are my two favorite actresses of all time. What I now need is for Christina Yang hire Olivia Pope as her divorce attorney from Owen, then perform a first of a kind heart surgery on Olivia’s and the POTUS secret love child …YASSST.

Y’all need to tune into Scandal every week. It’s an amazing show and I’m totally here for it.
