“Why do queens want to get married in churches? Rupert Everett goes in on Gay Marriage

Rupert Everett sounds so miserable. After dragging gay couples who wanted to become parents, Rupert Everett is now bashing gay marriage and according to him it’s “beyond tragic

You would swear Rupert is a middle aged bigot who’s so sad in his own life that he wants everyone else to be as pathetic as he is….then again…..

The actor proclaims:

For me, being gay was about wanting to do the opposite of the straight world, so I think that’s where my problems in this particular area come from. For me, personally, the last thing I would like in the entire world would be to go through cocktailing my sperm with my boyfriend and finding some grim couple in Ohio who are gluten-free and who you pay $75,000 to have your baby. To me it feels absolutely hideous. But that’s me, just me. I’m not having a go at gay couples who do. I think if Elton and David want to have babies, that’s wonderful. I think we should all do what we want. Isn’t there a middle way, where you can just say, ‘Not for me, but it doesn’t matter’? But no, everything’s sort of turned into al-Qaida. I’m sure I’m going to be nail-bombed. David Furnish is probably going to send Patrick Cox with a bomb and blow up the theatre.”

On gay marriage Everett adds:

“Why do queens want to go and get married in churches? Obviously this crusty old pathetic, Anglican church – the most joke-ish church of all jokey churches – of course they don’t want to have queens getting married. It’s kind of understandable that they don’t; they’re crusty old calcified freaks. But why do we want to get married in churches? I don’t understand that, myself, personally. I loathe heterosexual weddings; I would never go to a wedding in my life. I loathe the flowers, I loathe the fucking wedding dress, the little bridal tiara. It’s grotesque. It’s just hideous. The wedding cake, the party, the champagne, the inevitable divorce two years later. It’s just a waste of time in the heterosexual world, and in the homosexual world I find it personally beyond tragic that we want to ape this institution that is so clearly a disaster.”

He’s has a right to his opinions, and some may not agree, but He’s been unhappy every since he came out, regretting the fact that his acting career was ruin because he came out. He is now not getting many movie roles he once did.

    • cantake8

Actually, his acting career was ruined by bad choices, drugs and alcohol. He cut a few crummy dollar-grabs that tanked and didn’t seem to realize he torpedoed his own box office appeal. Then he became known around Miami as a rude cad who did too much “party” and who wasn’t discrete about flying in 20-something blond gay porn stars for dessert.

      • Darkhog

Thanks, cantake8. I knew there was more knowledge on this character. I know the people have regrets about the pass will sometimes blame others or try to cover there mistakes in their past. So what you just informed me with is sometime people are mad, because they’re just being assholes, and remain assholes. I believe everyone has the right to have a chance to do, marry, or love whomever they want.

        • cantake8

Consequences can be rewarding and punishing.

          • Darkhog

Yes they can, and it’s our choice on which one we choose. ; )

  • Get Real

He’s a bitter old queen. It’s about equal rights, not about marriage per se. Maybe he’s too stupid or too self hating to think gay people should have the right, the choice, to do what we want, and not have our rights specially limited by the law.

He thinks he would have been a huge star had he not come out. He’s just not that good of an actor, and not that good of a human it seems.

    • PooPoo

      Agreed

    • cantake8

Rupert wants to make sure nobody hires him again… at least nobody gay or nobody who knows anyone gay.

  • Brian

Rupert Everett needs to find himself. For a man of his age he should be wiser

  • thmawhat

Why are we even giving this idiot time. He’s clearly looking for attention

I maybe am bitter too, but he’s right . Being gay is all the opposite of straight stuff .

    • Get Real

Yes Yannick you’re so right. And thankfully there are plenty of laws ensuring that gay people are “the opposite” of all that.

No one is MAKING you get married. No one is MAKING you adopt kids.

It’s about having full, equal legal rights and protections to make WHATEVER choice you want.

I don’t want to get married. Maybe some day I will. I don’t think I’ll ever want kids, but it’s about having the right to do this just like everyone else.

    • cantake8

Really? Do you shove food in your ass and shit out your mouth? What’s “all the opposite” supposed to mean?

  • John

Why do we hate so much others opinions, deep down, many of us think the same, i am a gay man, and i will never go trough adoption or marriage to please all the others, is my life and i have a right to live the way i want. at the same time i have an obligation to respect others., we “gay people” are selfish we don’t care what our parents think, we don’t care what church think, we don’t care what damage we can make a kid when they grow up. that’s the true, Rupert is not the only one who needs to get a life many of us we should zip our lips and think think hard, then do what ever you want, not what others are doing.

    • Get Real

Another stupid opinion of someone who doesn’t get it. You cannot “do whatever you want” if there are laws in place making them illegal. You have no right to visit your loved one in the hospital, or make decisions about their life and care, or their property. It’s ‘family only” and you are not family. You are not family because the law says your not.

      • CF

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but it’s about being respectful. Rupert is NOT respectful in his opinions.

  • John

“Get real” you are the one not getting the point, wearing a white dress or adopt a child, just because is a gay trend, is not a free pass to visit you loved one at the hospital, or claim what you and him build after he pass, fight for rights, don’t fight for what straight couples do, not everything need to be equal, i want respect as a gay man, i want to have the right to visit my lover at the hospital or claim what we build together, a church ceremony with a bunch of effeminate at my side, after all we are man or woman. lets act what we are., and if is from you hearth to adopt go ahead.

  • John

It should be “NOT a church ceremony with a bunch of effeminate people by my side,”
