So the black gay guy on VH1 Single Ladies isn’t gay after all

We love the gays on Stan Drivel, especially the flamboyant ones so we were a bit disappointed to find out that the finger snapping neck rolling actor, Travis Winfrey, on Vh1 Single Ladies is actually straight.

Travis plays the eccentric gay character Omar on Vh1′s hit show and he plays it so convincingly well that we all thought he was gay in his personal life; however, the actor dismisses the claims saying people should take his character lightly.

We get to see alot of Travis’ masculine sexy side in his new photo shoot with Kontrol Magazine and while we’re disappointed he’s not the flaming character he plays on Vh1, his down to earth personality surely makes up for it. View some excerpts of Travis’ interview below.

On playing the role of a gay character
It was an opportunity for me to play a gay character who is not playing a gay character…I don’t know if people assume I am but people know Omar is gay. They assume I am not… something I would have never done.

On not playing the stereotypical neck-rolling, finger snapping gay male
We all come built with our own stereotypes and should take things light heatedly.

Do you prefer being single during the summer or settled down in the winter?
There’s a difference in the seasons between L.A. and New York. L.A is warm all the time so being single is fun. In New York, sometimes you can be single; in the winter you need to be snuggled up.

Are you attracted to dominate women
I will let my woman think she’s in control.
